De-stash February: Vests

Are you set yet?? I have alredy started my destashing by digging through my boxes of fabric and yarn. The first project was really a project that killed two birds with one stone. Here in Sweden it is getting colder now. They have talked about -15 here on the west coast. Brrrr! And the vests I bought from last season were by all means cheap, but that also meant that the quality wasn't the best. They are to short now (not only because the kids have grown), and they all have the seams across the tummy and the back.
I bought this lovely flower cotton interlock from Germany at least three years ago. I thought that it was a thicker fabric and wanted to make cozy longsleeved shirts from it, but it is very thin and soft. Finally I got to use it for making vests. With some foldover elastics and a lettuce hem this was a pretty fast and fun project.

The purple jersey with hearts is from Stoff&Stil a Swedish company that now has a shop 3 km (2 miles) away from me. I got it from the "bargain box" and paid next to nothing for it, and I thought it could be useful for some kind of leggings or undies.  I tried a different elastic on one of them with little pink hearts, not sure that it shows, but it got pretty sweet.

Now, how is this de-stashing going to work?? Easy peasy! Just post what you have made up until now in this MrLinky below. Use the link DIRECTLY to the blog post, and remember to post your name or blog name.

It is also time to confess your sins. Have you been shopping for supplies?? Already?? Well. Officially it is not until tomorrow that you can't buy anything at all until end of February. 29 loooooong days. And nights (I do most of my shopping at night). I have to confess that I did visit a fabric shop last Friday and I did buy some fabric in there. On the other hand. They had a massive sale, and I ended up paying next to nothing for it, and most of them I need for my March project (I will tell you about that later, perhaps you will join in on that one too?). So, in the comment fields we now are eager to listen to your confessions. And for all of you that actually are living up to the challenge, yay for you! And, make sure that you post too, so that we all can get motivated from the angelic crafting corner.

I ordered on the 1st and after that I read about this de-stash thing in your blog, but I'm trying not to order on the first week of March (or even the whole March?!??) as a punishment for my bad, bad order... :( (it was an order I had promised to make on behalf of my friend who lives in Switzerland (I live in Germany and michas stoffecke does not ship to Switzerland - I am Finn btw :)) and my friend didn't tell me what she wanted to order until on the last day of January - bad excuse...)
