The best thing about autumn....

I just looove to take a long walk in the forest and search for mushrooms. And as it happens both of the kids actually enjoy that too. Especially our daughter. It's like one long treasure hunt. Here she is with one of the golden treasures we found when we were at my parents' this weekend. A hedgehog mushroom (Blek taggsvamp). Yeah yeah, I know, most Swedes are nuts about Chantarelles, and we found a couple of those too, but mainly this hedgehog mushroom and funnel chantarelle. We came upon a couple of really good places with large mushrooms, so we came back with a couple of liter of mushrooms.
Then comes the downside of picking mushrooms. Cleaning them. Especially when you have had help from kids there are all kinds of things in the bag.
And then comes the good part of picking mushrooms. Frying them in the frying pan in butter, add some salt. Put them on toast and just a sprinkle of some tasty cheese. Pop it in a warm oven for 5 minutes, enough to make the cheese melt. And you're good to go... Yummy!

Yummy!
I imagine it would be a lot of fun to search for mushrooms.

Looks soooo tasty! I love mushrooms and would like to pick them myself, but as I don't know anything about them, it would end disastrous...

Amen mums. Här sitter jag och svälter och slösurfar, nu är det slut med det! Måste gå och laga nåt salt och lika gott. Tack för inspirationen!
